Product Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful information about 3D Pro Zir Ultra, its intended use, and the recommended workflow.
01 What is Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra?
Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra is a premium pre-shaded, fast-sintering 4Y+5Y multilayer zirconia disc for dental laboratories. It combines a strong cervical zone with a more translucent incisal zone for natural-looking monolithic crowns, bridges, screw-retained restorations, and full-arch cases.
02 What restorations are recommended for 3D Pro Zir Ultra?
Aidite recommends 3D Pro Zir Ultra for anterior and posterior full-contour crowns and bridges, screw-retained bridges, and full-arch long bridges. Inlays, onlays, and veneers are also listed as applicable. Cutback crowns, copings, and coping bridges are possible but are not the manufacturer's preferred use because they can reduce the material's built-in esthetic effect.
03 Can 3D Pro Zir Ultra be used for All-on-X and full-arch restorations?
Yes. Aidite lists screw-retained bridges and full-arch long bridges among the recommended indications and positions 3D Pro Zir Ultra for restorations up to 14 units. Full-arch cases must follow the current Aidite design, connector, support, placement, and sintering instructions.
04 How strong and translucent is Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra?
Aidite reports flexural strength up to 1,250 MPa and a translucency gradient of approximately 43% in the cervical layer to 57% in the incisal layer. This combination is designed to provide strength where it is needed and greater enamel-like translucency toward the incisal.
05 What does the 4Y+5Y gradient in 3D Pro Zir Ultra mean?
The 4Y+5Y structure combines a higher-strength 4Y zirconia cervical or dentin zone with a higher-translucency 5Y zirconia incisal or enamel zone. The gradient is designed to reproduce the strength, color, and translucency transition of natural dentition.
06 Can Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra be fast sintered in two hours?
Yes, for qualifying cases and validated equipment. Aidite states that 3D Pro Zir Ultra can support a two-hour fast-sintering workflow with the CSF-400 Pro, particularly for single crowns and short bridges. This can support same-day zirconia production for qualifying cases. Larger and full-arch restorations require the appropriate manufacturer-approved cycle and should not automatically use the two-hour program.
07 Can I sinter 3D Pro Zir Ultra in another zirconia furnace?
Conventional sintering may be possible in compatible, calibrated zirconia furnaces. Heating performance varies by furnace and restoration size, so use the current Aidite instructions for use or a validated furnace-specific program rather than copying a generic fast-sintering cycle.
08 What shades and disc thicknesses are available?
Gro3X offers Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra in shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4, D2, D3, D4, OM1, OM2, and OM3. Listed 98 mm thicknesses include 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, and 30 mm, subject to current variant availability.
09 Will 3D Pro Zir Ultra fit my dental milling machine?
This product is supplied as a 98 mm zirconia disc. It is intended for dental milling systems that accept the corresponding 98 mm disc format, but laboratories should confirm holder geometry, disc configuration, and available thickness with the milling-machine manufacturer before ordering.
10 Does 3D Pro Zir Ultra require coloring liquid?
No routine pre-coloring is required because 3D Pro Zir Ultra is supplied in pre-shaded multilayer shades. Laboratories can stain and glaze the sintered restoration when additional characterization is desired. Aidite identifies its Biomic stain and glaze system as a compatible esthetic workflow.
11 How should Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra be positioned during nesting?
Follow the directional arrow on the side of the disc. The arrow points toward the incisal, lighter-colored portion. Position the restoration intentionally within the multilayer gradient to control the final balance of cervical chroma, incisal brightness, and translucency.
12 What are the minimum design requirements for 3D Pro Zir Ultra?
Aidite's current instructions state that the thinnest restoration area should be at least 0.7 mm. They also specify minimum connector cross-sections of 9 mm² for anterior bridges and 12 mm² for posterior bridges, with connector height of at least 3 mm. Always follow the current IFU and the case-specific clinical design requirements.
13 How does 3D Pro Zir Ultra compare with the original Aidite 3D Pro Zir and 3D Pro Zir MAX?
3D Pro Zir Ultra is the speed-focused premium option, combining a 4Y+5Y esthetic gradient, flexural strength up to 1,250 MPa, and validated fast-sintering potential. The original 3D Pro Zir is the established esthetic multilayer option with strength up to 1,100 MPa, while 3D Pro Zir MAX is the higher-strength option, rated at 1,300 MPa or greater, for especially demanding implant-supported and long-span cases.
14 Why buy Aidite 3D Pro Zir Ultra from Gro3X?
